The Care Team at HC-One’s
Jack Dormand in Peterlee, a residential, nursing and dementia care home, was crowned the winner of the Palliative Carer of the Year Award at The Northern Echo Health and Care Awards 2022.
The awards ceremony took place virtually on Thursday 28th April. The awards celebrated and recognised those who have gone the extra mile, shining a spotlight on those who richly deserve credit who have risen to the challenges presented by the global COVID-19 pandemic, overcoming adversity, showing strength, bravery, kindness, compassion and tenacity to serve their local communities, continuing to put others first.
The Jack Dormand care team were recognised by the judges for demonstrating that they fully reflect upon what is important to the Resident at the end of their life. The team have shown what it truly takes to support Residents and their loved ones with kindness and care, as well as social, spiritual and psychological support.
Jack Dormand Care Home is located in a former mining community in County Durham, providing nursing and residential care to 43 Residents. The home is rated overall ‘Outstanding’ by CQC.
