Pizza day at Burntwood care homeAt Chaseview care home in Staffordshire, which provides nursing and residential dementia care, Residents have been enjoying pizza day.

Megan, a Chef at Chaseview hosted a cooking class for the Residents to get their hands stuck in on some pizza making. Residents made pizzas for themselves and for their tea. There was a nice range of different pizza topping to choose from, with some Residents opting for a barbeque and ham flavoured pizza, with others just choosing a rounded vegetable pizza. Residents had chosen their base before, so everything was good to go when Megan brought everything out.

Most Residents really enjoyed the pizza as a nice treat for dinner and said it was a nice change. Some of the ladies also made sure that they had made enough for Colleagues to also enjoy when they finished, and even asked many of them what their favourite pizza was so they could make it for them.

Speaking with some of the Residents after, many of them really enjoyed reminiscing with each other on when they used to cook for their loved ones, and also liked seeing everybody smiling over good food. One Resident said, “It was lovely food to eat, I enjoyed making my tea again”.

Jennifer, the Home Manager went on to say, “Food tasted lovely, nice to see our Residents getting involved and making others smile”.
