Plans for Wigan Residents during Care Home Open WeekOn Friday 1st July at Ashton View nursing and dementia care home, in Ashton-in-Makerfield, Colleagues have been planning how they will be hosting an open day for everyone to visit during the national event of Care Home Open Week. 

An extensive itinerary of events has been put together that will be happening throughout the day for everyone to enjoy. This includes tombola’s, raffles, a baking competition, live entertainment and a summer buffet for Residents and their families to enjoy. 

This will be an all-day event from 10 am - 7pm and the home have raised over £100 from a previous raffle, which will be used to surprise Residents and Relatives with a visit from the local ice-cream van on the day. 

This can be enjoyed in the company of live entertainment by local entertainer Al Hart. 

One of the Residents remarked, “I can’t wait for opening day to arrive!”

Wellbeing Coordinators Ashley Smith and Ann Marie Roberts, who are leading in the organising of the day, commented, “We can’t wait to see all our Residents and families faces, and how much this day will mean to them.”
