Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Stamford CourtOn 3rd June, Colleagues and Residents at HC-One’s Stamford Court nursing care home, in Stalybridge, kicked off the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations.

Earlier in the week, an activity session as held whereby Residents made their own personalised crowns to wear on the day. Some of the ladies at the home also chose to have their nails painted in the traditional Union Jack red, white and blue colours, to coincide with the big event.

On the day of the big event, Residents were surprised when they went into the dining room to see beautifully decorated tables for their English Breakfast.

After watching the live event on television, Residents decided to take part in an early morning Platinum Jubilee themed bingo, with plenty of prizes to be won!

After dinner, the home organised for a special performer to visit and get everyone involved, singing, dancing and playing games.

Everyone had a great laugh together and especially enjoyed singing along to the music. One of the Residents commented, “This music takes me right back to being a little boy.”

The celebrations continued in the days after with games on the Saturday and a lovely garden party on the Sunday.

Home Manager, Sue Jackson, said, “It’s lovely seeing a smile on everyone’s face.”
