Poppy making at Ashgrove Care HomeThis month at Ashgrove in Hounslow, which provides nursing dementia care, Residents have been making poppies to commemorate Remembrance Day and Sunday.

Residents were more than happy to commemorate Remembrance Day by making some poppies and putting them up around the care home. Colleagues also assisted Residents in making them, whilst the Remembrance Day services was on the television. There was also a good amount of reminiscing going on amongst some Residents about their time during the second World War.

Speaking afterwards, one Resident said, “it was nice to make the poppies for today, I will wear it with pride”.

Cynthia, the Home Manager said, “Seeing the Residents make their own poppies was lovely, I’m happy they enjoyed the service”.
