A Resident has spent her incredible 100th birthday with family as they came to see her with window visits at HC-One’s Fazakerley House care home in Prescot, Merseyside.
Winnie Fitzsimmons has a big family who all wanted to see her on her big day as she celebrated turning 100. In line with coronavirus restrictions, they all had their special time with Winnie by staggering their individual window visits throughout the day.
They sent in cakes, balloons, cards and flowers to make sure that Winnie was spoilt and well looked after on her birthday. She was also treated to some socially distanced entertainment when a singer performed for all the Residents outside the home.
Winnie was treated like royalty on her 100th birthday as she sat on her throne of balloons, donning a tiara and birthday sash.
Winnie said: “You are all lovely people. I am very lucky.”
Despite a birthday in lockdown, Winnie was able to celebrate with her family and enjoyed a lovely day with everyone at Fazakerley House.
Colleagues worked hard to made the day as special as possible for Winnie and even sent videos of her day to her family so they could share in the fabulous time she was having.
Fazakerley House Home Manger, Veronica Francisco, commented: “It was a lovely emotional day for all of us. It was amazing to see how much Winnie enjoyed her special day.
“A big thank you to the staff who pulled out all the stops to give Winnie and her family a day they will never forget.”
