Pytchley Court Residents Enjoy Special Trip to Crufts Dog ShowResidents from Pytchley Court Care Home in Brixworth, Northamptonshire enjoyed a fantastic day out at Crufts, the world-famous dog show, held at the NEC in Birmingham.

Dog-loving residents Sandra Collier and Jacqueline Isles were delighted to attend the event, accompanied by Mark Barwick (Driver) and Mair Miller from the Activities team. The residents were elated to be visiting Crufts as they are passionate dog lovers and were excited to experience the famous show in person.

The Royal Kennel Club Crufts celebrates every aspect of the important role dogs play in our lives. Residents enjoyed seeing a wide range of dog breeds and watching the exciting competitions taking place throughout the day.

One particularly special moment came when one of the residents was invited into the arena to meet the Best in Show dog, making the visit even more memorable. As someone who owned dogs before moving into the home, it was a truly meaningful experience.

Susan Watson, MBE, Home Manager at Pytchley Court Care Home, said:
“It’s lovely to see the residents’ wishes become a reality and for the team to go above and beyond to make them happy.”

Emma Barwick, Deputy Manager, added:
“Animal therapy is a great way to encourage reminiscence. It brings back wonderful memories of the things residents enjoyed doing earlier in their lives.”

The visit highlights Pytchley Court’s commitment to supporting residents to continue enjoying their hobbies and passions, creating meaningful experiences that bring joy and connection.
