At HC-One’s
Ailsa Craig care home in Cessnock, Glasgow, some lovely reindeers visited all the Residents.
Kevin, the Wellbeing Coordinator, contacted Ayrshire Reindeers to see about visiting the home so the Residents could get into the festive spirit.
It was just something a bit different for the Residents to see, which went down well. The local nursery school was also invited along which made them all smile and it was lovely for the Residents to interact with the children.
As many of the Residents and children they had never seen real reindeer's it was such a lovely experience.
Donner and Prancer came along, and they were a huge hit with everyone. They were petted by everyone, and it was lovely to see. The Residents had a chance to feed the reindeers with carrots and they were hungry!
The Residents were also served warm mince pies and hot chocolate.
Violet, a Resident at Ailsa Craig, said, “I have never seen a reindeer before, and they were so soft to touch.”
Lynsey Armstrong, Care Home Manager, added, “It’s fantastic to get the chance to bring these beautiful animals to our home. A mini winter wonderland.”
