Remembering Liverpool at Ash Court care homeA reminiscing club has been set up at Ash Court residential care home, in Knotty Ash, where staff and Residents have an afternoon together to remember the past.

Today, they all come together to share the memories that they had of Liverpool itself.

Leah Mort, Home Manager, led the session with Residents Eric Farrington, Dorothy Poole, Irene Tozer, and Margeret Wheeler. They spent a few hours listening to each other’s memories and watching YouTube videos.

The Residents were full of smiles and laughs. They also had treats on the table to nibble at, including chocolate, crisps, wine and shandy.

Lots was learned at the session including that Liverpool football club was formed in 1892; the best player being Billy Liddle. Everyone then sang the famous Liverpool song ‘You will never walk alone’.

Everyone enjoyed sharing memories really enjoyed looking forward to doing all again next week

Leah commented, “I enjoyed spending the time to get to know the background of the Residents and watching all the Residents laugh and smile together.”
