Remembrance Service at The GardensThis month at The Gardens in Lincolnshire, which provides residential and residential memory care, Residents and Colleagues have been paying their respects for Remembrance Sunday.

All Colleagues and Residents took part in a 2-minute silence to remember those lost in battle during the first and second World Wars. The Maintenance Operative at The Gardens made two wooden crosses with a poppy on one which hangs on the front door to the care home, the other was for the Residents to hang in the living room.

Colleagues also had some poppies knitted to give to the Residents, who a loved them. One Resident said, “It was lovely to all stand together and pay our respects, I really like my poppy”, another went on to say, “We are proud of the soldiers now as we were back then, respect to all forces”.

Vicky, the Home Manager said, “The staff were proud to stand  alongside our Residents for an emotional 2-minute silence”.
