Reminiscence session at Bakers CourtResidents at HC-One’s Bakers Court care home enjoyed an afternoon of reminscence as Colleagues set up various stations for everyone to partake in.

Four tables were set up, which included writing skills, washing and drying, folding linen and a sensory area, alongside reminiscent music in the background. Light refreshments were provided for all to enjoy, including warm or cold beverages and various homemade savoury and sweet treats.

Residents sang along to the music as they chose to take part in each individual station, remarking on how they recall doing each activity in their own homes when they were younger. Colleagues sat with Residents as they encouraged and assisted them with their chosen activity.

One Resident commented on how useful the session was as it helped to remind them of who they were or the type of things they did.

Munahimaila Mutinta, Home Manager, commented: “Residents have enjoyed taking part in these activities as they were able to reminisce about their lives and the various things they remember doing.”
