Resident at Doncaster care home celebrates 100th birthdayRosie Wrath, a Resident at HC One’s The Beeches care home, celebrated turning the big 100 on the 20th June.

Rosie was born in Armthorpe, not far from the Doncaster care home location. Rosie was a postwoman, and would regularly been seen riding around on her bike.

Rosie married Charlie on December 29th 1940, however Charlie sadly passed away on 28th December 1955, just the day before the couple were to celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary.

They had a lovely life together and had two children, a daughter and a son. The family certainly expanded with six grandchildren and great grandchildren now in Rosie’s life.

When asked what the secret to a long life was, Rosie said “I’m not quite sure but a Baileys never did any harm!”

Rosie celebrated her big day with a window visit from her daughter and a couple of her grandchildren. It was lovely for them to be able to reunite in some way for such a special day.

Rosie enjoyed a beautiful birthday cake, sparkling wine and loved opening up her special birthday card from the Queen. The day wouldn’t have been completed with a little glass of Baileys too!
