A hairdresser who works in the salon at HC-One’s Winters Park care home in Penrith has done an incredible job raising money for the home through a Christmas light switch on in her neighbourhood.
Alison wanted to raise money for the care home to cheer everyone up during this difficult and stressful time. She organised a light switch on with her neighbours so that she could buy lovely gifts for Colleagues and Residents at the Winters Park.
One Resident commented: “Thank you to all the lovely people in our community for caring about us.”
Alison’s Christmas light switch on raised £200 which used to buy wine, chocolate, pampering sets and plenty of other thoughtful gifts to give to the Colleagues and Residents at the care home.
Everyone at the home was overwhelmed with her and her neighbours’ generosity and praised them for thinking of them during this difficult time.
Winters Park Home Manager, Kate Lewis, said: “I’m so grateful and thankful to Alison and the community for raising this money for us. All the gifts were enjoyed by everyone here at Winters Park.”
