Residents and local nursery commemorate Remembrance DayResidents at HC-One’s Quayside, nursing and nursing dementia care home in Yoker, Glasgow have had a visit from a local nursery school to commemorate Remembrance Day.

Children from Yokerburn Nursery visited Quayside to leave their handmade poppy decorations at Quayside anchor, a focal point in the grounds of the care home.

Some Residents braved the wind to accept the poppies and to meet with the children.

It was lovely to see the school children and speak with them about their memories of the war.

One Resident, who lives in the care home, said, “How lovely that even now children are being taught the importance of remembering others.”

Anne McDade, Wellbeing Coordinator, added, “It’s great to see the children from the nursery spending time with Residents - it’s really beneficial to everyone.”
