Residents at Walton-on-Thames care home put their thinking caps on for fun Dingbats challengeResidents and staff at Adelaide House care home in Walton-on-Thames recently came together for an afternoon of brain-teasing fun as they tackled a series of classic Dingbats puzzles.

The much-loved word game had everyone putting their heads together to solve visual clues that represent common phrases and sayings. While some answers came quickly, others left participants delightfully puzzled – sparking plenty of laughter, conversation and teamwork along the way.

Dingbats have long been a favourite activity at the home, encouraging residents to stay mentally active while enjoying time with friends and staff. The session brought the community together as residents shared ideas, celebrated correct answers and enjoyed the friendly challenge.

The lively atmosphere showed that the real reward wasn’t just solving the puzzles, but the fun and companionship that came with trying.

Ghody John Dano, Activities Coordinator said:
“Dingbats are always a brilliant activity because everyone can get involved. Sometimes the answer comes straight away, other times we’re completely stumped but that’s part of the fun. It’s wonderful to see residents and staff working together, sharing laughs and enjoying each other’s company.”

The activity forms part of Adelaide House’s varied programme designed to support residents’ wellbeing, creativity and social connection.

With plenty more brain teasers planned, residents are already looking forward to the next challenge.
