Residents Enjoy a Sunny Day Out at Walsall ArboretumResidents at HC-One’s Perry Locks Care Home in Perry Barr, Birmingham, recently took full advantage of the sunny summer weather with a delightful day trip to the nearby Walsall Arboretum.

The group set off on the home’s minibus, taking in the local sights along the way. Though the journey was short, it sparked plenty of conversation as residents shared fond memories and pointed out familiar landmarks and the changes they noticed in the surrounding area.

Upon arrival, everyone enjoyed a gentle stroll through the picturesque park, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and lush summer greenery. A particular highlight of the trip was watching children laughing and playing at the splash pad, which brought many smiles and happy memories for the residents.

The group settled in a shaded area of the park to enjoy a delicious picnic, lovingly prepared by the home’s talented kitchen team. Residents were treated to a generous spread of bread rolls, pork pies, snacks, fruit, and refreshing cold drinks.

After the picnic, the residents took another leisurely walk through the arboretum and discovered a charming café nestled in the trees, perfect for a relaxing cup of tea and a slice of cake to round off a truly wonderful day.
