Silent disco sparks dancing and laughter at Pendleton CourtResidents at Pendleton Court care home, which offers residential, nursing and residential dementia care in Salford, were in for a wonderful Friday night party with a silent disco!

The home recently received a donation of a silent disco from the group ‘Dancing for Dementia’, who are a social dance/entertainment group for people living with dementia, their families, friends and carers, in Salford.

The Residents have been supported by this group all through the national lockdown and have received many wonderful donations such as Christmas presents, and this was another incredibly generous treat that sparked so much laughter around the home.

During Friday night’s silent disco, everyone involved had a laugh and were dancing around the home wearing earphones with their favourite songs playing, such as Bob Marley classics and traditional Irish music.

Elizabeth and Josie who live at the home, both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Lesley Wellbeing Coordinator, added, “We were surprised to see the Residents’ reactions. They were amazing, they loved the music and just started dancing.”
