Space day for Dukinfield ResidentsToday at Yew Trees residential memory care home, a space day was held for all Residents to get involved in.

Colleagues organised a space board game, which was chosen by Residents. They have also been reading together a book all about stars, as well as looking at a globe that shines the constellations onto the walls and a light that looks like the galaxy.

For refreshments, everyone had an orange sorbet rainbow ice-cream with a variety of toppings to choose from, such as popping candy and white stars to match the space theme. Everyone enjoyed the ice cream with the different toppings, “This ice-cream tasted lovely!”

The wellbeing team also organised a quiz about the moon landing of 1969, which got many people talking and reminiscing. One Resident remarked, “I remember the moon landing!”

Wellbeing Coordinator, Lynda, said, “It was quite a nice day with the sun being out for a short time to have space ice-cream!”
