St Helens care home completes transformative refurbishment and upgrade programmeBroadoak Manor care home in Parr, St Helens, has benefitted from an exciting almost £550,000 refurbishment and upgrade resulting from a major investment programme launched by owners HC-One.

Residents of the 120-bed, friendly care home are able to enjoy sustainable, modernised and enhanced living environments – including full decoration of the home’s entrance lobby, hair salon, quiet rooms and corridors. The home’s dining rooms have also benefitted from new flooring, furniture, decoration and lighting. The team on site also worked hard to refresh the WC’s, shower rooms and bathrooms.

Residents, their loved ones, and Broadoak Manor’s care teams can come together to enjoy activities and social engagements in the newly decorated lounge, which has been developed as part of the home’s transformation.

The residential, nursing and dementia care home refurbishment forms part of HC-One’s £54.5 million refurbishment and upgrade programme. This programme will benefit 221 HC-One homes, including Broadoak Manor, and forms part of HC-One’s mission to be the UK’s first choice care provider in the communities it serves.

As the largest care home refurbishment programme in the UK, HC-One is transforming its homes for the benefit of the Residents and Colleagues who live and work in them, and for the local communities they serve. The upgrades mean that every HC-One home will be equipped to meet the needs of an ageing population with increasingly complex care needs – including dementia care needs.

The works at Broadoak Manor began in January 2022 and completed in June– no Residents were impacted by the works.

Lianne Webb, HC-One’s Area Director said:

“We are committed to fostering an environment that really feels like home, and décor and facilities are an important part of this. We’re really excited that the plans for Broadoak Manor Care Home has now been safely completed. We look forward to families and friends visiting the home and seeing the end result.”
