Starting Christmas at Duffield care homeThe festivities have begun at HC-One's Bankwood residential and nursing care home, in Belper.

On 24th November, it was time for the annual Christmas card pictures to be taken, and there was a slightly different spin this year…

The Residents had a lovely afternoon with two four-legged friends, who were bought in by Colleagues Chaz and Lesley, who both work on the night shift.

Chaz came in and took photos of the Residents with the dogs for a Christmas Card. These will be sent to the Residents’ families and loved ones, each card has a photo to keep also.

The Residents were so happy seeing the dogs and it was such a lovely afternoon to see the Residents all have a smile on their faces.

One of the Residents commented, “It was a lovely afternoon with the dogs and what a lovely idea for the cards!”

Everyone agreed they wish to see the dogs again, which can hopefully be organised in the new year.

On 16th December the Christmas party took place at Bankwood. Everyone had a lovely day with all Residents wearing hats and having fun together!

The home’s chef and kitchen team organised a lovely buffet, it was a great atmosphere with Christmas songs playing the background and the Residents really enjoyed a visit from Santa Claus and receiving their presents.

Colleagues Lynne and Lisa, who helped to organise the day, commented, “Residents thought it was an amazing day and really enjoyed Santa visiting, and the presents of course. We are looking forward to more parties to come.”
