Residents are keeping in touch with their loved ones by using digital technology over at HC-One’s Oaklands care home in Dunton Hills, Laindon.
Unfortunately, families cannot visit the home due to lockdown restrictions, but Residents are finding new ways to see one another through tablets and mobile phones.
Residents use FaceTime and phone calls to update their loved ones on what they have been up to and for general chit chat.
One Resident commented: “Thank you so much for arranging video calls. I always look forward to seeing and talking to my daughter.”
As well as connecting to their loved ones, Residents also use tablets and phones to explore the wonders of technology by watching music videos, listening to news podcasts, playing games and taking photos.
Oaklands care home Colleague, Lorraine Ansell, said: “Technology is used every day here. Residents especially like apps such as YouTube and games.”
