Stoke care home Resident celebrates 60th wedding anniversaryAt HC-One’s Stadium Court care home in Stoke, a Resident celebrated her 60th wedding anniversary and told Colleagues about her story.

On 23rd May, Roshan and Mohamid will have been married for 60 years. The families of the two lovers met in Uganda in 1961. Roshan's sister also met Mohamids's brother at exactly the same time.

Roshan and Mohamid were married on the 23rd May 1961 at the Agalchan Mosque. They travelled to England in 1972 with their family; two daughters and Mohamid's mum. They stayed in camps in Devon and, then eventually, in 1973, they moved to their home in Clayton, Newcastle Under Lyme.  

They went on to have a happy life and one more beautiful girl. Mohamid gained employment at the Mr Kipling bakery. He worked there for 27 years. Roshan enjoyed life looking after her daughters and her mother in law as well as going to work at Enderley Mills. 

They enjoyed family holidays together and returned to visit India twice. Roshan joined Stadium Court on 2nd January 2020 and has settled very well. enjoying regular visits of her family.
