Taking advantage of the sun with beach day at Willow CourtBeing aware of temperatures which were going to peak at 28 degrees on Thursday 23rd June, Colleagues at HC-One’s Willow Court, in Cherry Willingham, decided to take advantage of the beautiful sunshine and host a beach day for Residents.

The residential and residential dementia care home’s courtyard was decorated with seaside bunting, paddling pools and a sand pit, as Colleagues dressed in themed attire and served a seaside themed cake with fruit cocktails to whoever wanted to indulge.

One of the Colleagues’ King Charles Spaniel, Stanley came to visit for the day, and the Residents loved seeing him take a paddle in his own paddling pool (see pictured).

Everyone really enjoyed the day and loved talking about their seaside holidays in the years gone by.

One of the Residents said, “It’s years since I've felt sand on my feed. What a lovely way of enjoying the sunshine”

Julie Kulezich, Administrator, commented, “It’s great to see all the staff getting dressed up, the Residents like seeing them out of uniform and having a good time, it brings everyone together!”
