April has been an amazing month with lots of entertainment and fun at
Millbrook care home, in Stalybridge, Tameside, with two live performances from entertainers ‘Magic Mike’ and ‘Stan & Ollie Tribute’.
On 10th April singer Magic Mike gave Residents at the 46-bed residential care home a show to remember. Magic Mike came from Liverpool, for the first time, to entertain his audience and he certainly made Residents come together, in big numbers, to see him sing and dance.
Mike performed a wide range of songs, from the 50's, 60's, 70's, and 80's up to the present day.
Claire Jones, Home Manager at Millbrook, said, “Given how much a hit he was, it will surely not be his last visit!”
Following on, the home also welcomed the great ‘Stan & Ollie Tribute’ duo, which was certainly another afternoon to remember! It was the perfect afternoon for the Laurel and Hardy comedy act to create mayhem in the home.
Residents loved interacting with the duo, one Resident commented, “Their humour has a different connotation, childish sometimes, but in good faith.”
Another Resident said, “I miss Laurel and Hardy jokes. They were the most loved comedy actors and innovators in cinematography. Even today Laurel and Hardy have many admirers, after their movies entertained many generations of people.”
Claire added, “Its lovely seeing everyone together enjoying themselves laughing singing and joining in with all the fun.”
“We look forward to many more days full of laughter over the summer, with plans for garden parties with BBQs in our beautiful Millbrook garden.”
