Teesside care home receives lovely letters from schoolchildrenResidents at HC-One’s Victoria House care home in Stockton-on-Tees have received some lovely letters from children at a local school.

Mr Ealand, a teacher at Green Gates School, had his class compose letters for the Residents talking about their hobbies, family and how they have been keeping busy during lockdown. His partner Tracey Manuel, a Nursing Assistant at Victoria House, brought the lovely letters into the home to share with the Residents.

One Resident commented: “How kind they are to think of us.”

Colleagues spent time with the Residents reading their letters, fawning over the drawings and trying out the quizzes that the children had sent in for them.

Mr Ealand is now looking forward to being able to bring the children to the home to meet all the Residents once coronavirus restrictions have been lifted. Until then, the children have each received a personalised certificate as well as a thank you note to the whole class.

Victoria House Home Manager, Sarah Dodsworth, said: “It’s great that the children thought of the Residents who haven’t been able to see their families.”
