At
Aspen Court nursing and residential care home, in Derby, everyone enjoyed the ‘Christmas Light Switch On’ event on the 11th of December 2021.
In the afternoon, the Christmas lights in the trees and the grotto was switched on for all to enjoy.
Resident Gary dressed up as Santa and welcomed everyone into the home’s grotto.
The catering team provided homemade sausage rolls, mince pies and nibbles for everyone to enjoy, including sherry and Baileys, which were handed out to all for a very early Christmas drink.
Residents loved the grotto and how beautiful it looked. One of the Residents commented, “What a lovely afternoon, it’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas!”
Mick Meakin, Wellbeing Coordinator, said, “We had a great day, and I loved the Carols and doing the conga around the home.”
“What a fantastic afternoon spent altogether. We all enjoyed getting in the Christmas spirit.”
