Two Colleagues at HC-One’s
Dale Park dementia care home, in Southport, have recently been interviewed by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Tony Snell on life within the care sector, the rewards and challenges it brings.
Home Manager Andrea Ekuruemu and Colleague Yvonne Haughton (pictured right to left) were interviewed on the BBC show, with the discussion being around nursing, care and the wonderful people that they have met over the years in the industry.
Topics of conversation included Care Home Open Week (which took part end 27th June to 1st July), the day-to-day life of working in a care home (and especially throughout the pandemic) and local links with community. Dale Park works closely with Larkfield Primary School in Southport and they were proud to talk about this to listeners.
The home has recently had a large scale investment and refurbishment programme which was also discussed, something that everyone in the home has been very excited about throughout recent months.
Lots of fellow Colleagues tuned in to listen when the piece aired, and everyone enjoyed it! Many Residents were particularly chuffed hearing about their home being on the radio.
Andrea commented, “Tony made us both feel at ease, it was lovely to be able to discuss our care home.”
