Residents at HC-One’s
Lomond Court are extremely happy to have their own small putting green installed in their garden this May.
Samantha Waugh, Home Manager at Lomond Court had the great idea to add a small course to the home’s grounds. Samantha’s husband is a greenkeeper at Murrayshall Golf Course in Perth and said it would be a great idea and would be happy to make it happen.
Staff members from Murrayshall Golf Course came to the home to erect a small 6 hole putting green over the weekend of the 6th and 7th of May. They arranged for the flags, hole cups and hole cutters to be used on the course and set it up in no-time. The putting green was carved out with solar lighting placed to allow Resident the choice of night-time games.
Some of the Residents of the 40-bed, nursing dementia care home, enjoy playing golf and have really enjoyed this activity together. The Residents loved getting together in the fresh air and putting a few balls.
A few of the ladies and gentlemen are keen golfers and are happy they have been able to pick up their golf clubs again.
Samantha Waugh, Care Home Manager, commented, “Having things to do in the garden is so important for active engagement of residents, we all enjoy getting the putters out and playing few holes each day.”
