An overwhelmed Resident at HC-One’s Waterside care home in Tipton celebrated his daughter’s 70th birthday on the same day visiting at the home was allowed again.
On March 18th, Resident Jim Pearce’s daughter, Ann, celebrated her 70th birthday and a few days before, he told Colleagues he wanted to do something special for it. Colleagues heard Jim loud and clear and put their heads together to organise a wonderful birthday celebration.
As they brainstormed, they realised that indoor visits were allowed again on the same day, so they got in touch with Jim’s loved ones to pay him a visit so he could join in the celebrations.
Jim made a beautiful picture with ‘70’ on it, to hand over to his daughter on this big day, along with a card.
On the day of her birthday, Ann entered the home and received the present off Jim and everyone who was present sang Happy Birthday.
Ann got very emotional and overwhelmed by the lovely act but was so appreciative of her Dad and the staff for organising such a wonderful surprise.
“It’s the best day every seeing my daughter on her 70th birthday,” beamed Resident Jim.
