Uxbridge care home throw huge party for Residents 100th birthdayA very special Resident at HC-One’s The Harefield care home in Uxbridge celebrated her 100th birthday milestone this month, so Colleagues wanted to make sure it was extra special.

The Harefield Resident Ivy hit the big 100 on the 19th May and to celebrate this momentous event, everybody at the Harefield worked together to throw Ivy the biggest, best party ever.

Laundry Assistant Louise helped to blow up balloons, Healthcare Assistants Marinela and Elita helped arrange the decorations and painted Ivy's nails so she looked stunning for her big day. As well as this, Head Chef Jan baked a wonderful cake and put together a brilliant spread, making the celebrations a huge team effort.

After all the preparation, the celebration began and Residents loved it. Everyone gathered together in the lounge and played Bing Crosby with a lot of Residents including Barbara and Judith singing and dancing along.

Later on, everyone in the home sang happy birthday and gave Ivy her presents. Ivy had a wonderful afternoon and was very touched by all the love she deservingly received.

During the day, Ivy's daughter Linda had a socially distant visit and thought the staff did a great job in celebrating Ivy's birthday.

Ivy's favourite present was her telegram from the Queen. She refused to put it down all throughout the party.

Mary Nadeem, The Harefield Home Manager said: “It is wonderful how everyone has worked together to give Ivy’s big milestone the celebration it truly deserves.”

“Well done team.”
