Residents at Kirkwood Court, residential and residential dementia care home, in Kenton, had a lovely day celebrating Valentine’s Day.
Everyone loved celebrating Valentine's Day this month, with lots of different activities taking place.
Residents celebrated Valentine's Day by making cards for our loved ones and making valentines teddies.
There was a Valentines party and Musical Memories were invited along to come and sing for everyone.
Residents loved giving their husbands and wives cards, dressing up in a love heart headband along with some Valentines themed glasses, they thought it was great.
The Residents loved joining in with the Valentines party, listening to love songs and reminiscing about their late husbands and wives. It was very heart warming.
Ron Heads, one of the Residents, said, “It was a lovely, fun day. I loved singing along to the music and dancing with my wife.”
Gladys Duffy, another Resident, added, “I love making the cute little teddy bears. It was a little challenging sewing the teddies together but it was worth it.”
Angela Douglass, Care Home Manager, remarked, “It was lovely seeing all the Residents enjoying the party. It was great hearing them all singing along to the music.”
