VE celebrations at Henley care home

Residents at HC-One’s Thamesfield care home enjoyed an afternoon of celebrating as they commemorated the 75th anniversary of VE day.

Bunting adorned the home as everyone sat to enjoy a VE day inspired lunch before enjoying a small tipple to share a toast to the men and women who gave their lives during the war.

The home’s chef also created a selection of delicious VE day themed cupcakes which were offered to each Resident, with everyone sharing memories that they had of that day 75 years ago.

One Resident remarked: “The lunch and sweet treats were delicious, it brought back so many memories for me to listen to the VE day speech.”
