VE Day at Huyton care homeResidents at Moss View residential, nursing and residential memory care home celebrated VE Day down at Peggy’s Snug which is more commonly known as Moss View’s very own pub.

Residents enjoyed a good old-fashioned ‘knees up’ with some classic sing along pub songs as they reminisced about their memories of the war and raised a glass to all those who have lost their lives during the wars.

Chef, Ste prepared some delicious pub grub with some of the Resident’s favourite nibbles including fish goujons, sausage bites and mini pasties.

Joan Walmsley, who lives at Moss View, said “It’s lovely here, just like the old days!”

Residents including those pictured Ron Littler and Ted Hope, Joan Walmsley, Doris Tierney and Eva Britnell, enjoyed singing on their new Karaoke machine.

Mary Fortune, another Resident, said, “I’ve had such a lovely afternoon sorry about my singing, the Irish love a good sing along!”

Janine, Wellbeing Coordinator, said, “It was lovely to see all the Residents’ spirits lifted.
