Residents and staff at Victoria Park Care Home in Coventry are calling on the local community to help make Easter extra special for seriously ill children by supporting a heartfelt donation drive for Birmingham Children's Hospital.
The Coventry-based care home is collecting a range of brand-new items to bring comfort and joy to young patients and the dedicated staff who care for them. Donations requested include soft toys and teddies (new with tags), activity packs such as colouring books and crayons, and cakes and sweet treats for hardworking ward teams.
As part of the initiative, a special Easter surprise is planned, with the Easter Bunny set to visit children on the Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at Birmingham Children’s Hospital on 5 April from 12pm, helping to create magical moments for families during what can be an incredibly difficult time.
The team at Victoria Park Care Home hopes the fundraiser will inspire the Coventry community to come together and make a meaningful difference this Easter.
Katie Hollis, Home Manager at Victoria Park Care Home, said:
“Easter is a time of joy and togetherness, and we want to share that spirit with children and families who may be facing incredibly tough circumstances. Every donation, no matter how small, will help bring comfort, smiles and a bit of Easter magic to those who need it most. We’d love to see the community come together to support such an important cause.”
Donations can be dropped off at Victoria Park Care Home, 75–83 Brays Lane, Coventry, CV2 4DS. For more information, please contact the home on 02476 445514.
The team is encouraging individuals, families and local businesses to get involved and help “fill the hospital with joy, colour and Easter cheer” this spring.
