Vintage afternoon tea at South Yorkshire care homeColleagues at HC-One’s Swallownest care home, in Sheffield, which offers residential and nursing care, organised a vintage afternoon tea for their Residents.

The tables were set with a selection of scrumptious cakes and the home got their best China cups and teapots out. The cups and saucers always go down well with the ladies at the home and everyone enjoyed the beautiful selection of cakes, scones and chocolates on offer.

One of the Residents commented, “I just love a China teacup but it’s just not big enough and I have to have two cups!”

There was also a vintage tea trolley for the Residents who were in their bedrooms so they didn’t miss out to, meaning all Residents could get involved which was just lovely.

David, who lives at Swallownest. asked Colleagues if they could pour his tea from his China cup into a mug as he wasn’t used to such finery, he really made everyone smile.”

Andrew Gibb, Care Home Manager, commented, “The Residents thoroughly enjoyed their afternoon tea and had an abundance of cakes and buns which they really enjoyed.”
