Virtual fitness classes are a hit at Falkirk care homeResidents at HC-One’s Barleystone care home in Falkirk have embraced technology during the COVID-19 pandemic to watch concerts, travel around the world and even stay healthy with the help of virtual fitness classes.

Burns Gym has been hosting online exercises classes every Wednesday afternoon which Residents at Barleystone have been enjoying. The classes are a popular event in the weekly calendar at the care home with one Resident, Rae commenting that the sessions go too quickly and she wishes they could be longer.

The exercises classes have made a significant impact on the physical and emotional wellbeing of the participants at Barleystone, as well as the Residents participating at other HC-One care homes.

Barleystone Home Manager, Pamela Cummings said: “Thank you to Tony and Joe at Burns Gym who make every session an enjoyable and engaging activity for our Residents to enjoy and look forward to.”

Situated in Westquarter Avenue, Barleystone care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen in Falkirk that require nursing care and nursing memory care for those living with dementia.
