It was an emotional day at HC-One’s Redesdale Court care home in North Shields as Resident, Alfred Patterson celebrated the wedding day of his beloved granddaughter.
Alfred’s granddaughter had always hoped that he would be able to walk her down the aisle on her wedding day, unfortunately Alfred was unable to do this due to coronavirus. However, Alfred was still part of her special day, his granddaughter provided a link so that he could watch her tie the knot on a live stream.
The team helped Alfred pick a smart outfit for the day and even made a beautiful button hole for him to wear as he watched his granddaughter wed on the big screen. Alfred stepped in to become a father figure for his granddaughter when her father sadly passed away so it was very special moment for him to watch her marry the love of her life.
Alfred commented on how he will treasure this moment for the rest of his life and thought that Niamh looked beautiful on her special day.
Redesdale Court Home Manager, Daniel Ridley said: “I am delighted that Alfred was able to watch the wedding, technology can really bring people together when they are unable to physically be together which has been invaluable over the last year.”
Located on Rake Lane, Redesdale Court care home offers short and long term care packages for older ladies and gentlemen in North Shields that require residential care and residential memory care for those living with dementia.
