Wigston Residents hold tea party for Queen Elizabeth IIThis week at Magna care home in Leicestershire which provides dementia care, Residents across the home have been paying their respects to HM Queen Elizabeth II.

Residents have been watching all the preparations for The Queen’s funeral on the television and all the wonderful documentaries that they have had on over the past week. Everybody was very sad to hear the news of the Queens passing and decided that they would like to hold a tea party in memory of her life.

The Residents were thrilled with the lovely display of sandwiches and cakes provided by Tina, the Head Chef at Magna. Wendy, the Activities Coordinator created a beautiful life book full of photos of the Queen, all the way from when she was a baby to adult. She had the help of some Residents who chose the photos and also wrote some lovely condolence messages at the back.

One Resident said that the afternoon tea was really thoughtful, and others also mentioned how they enjoyed celebrating the memory of the Queen in such a way. Another Resident went on to say, “May our beloved Queen Elizabeth II rest in peace”.

Chipo, the Home Manager at Magna also commented, “The tea party in memory of our late Queen has cheered everybody up”.
