Woodlands View Hosts a Romantic Valentine’s Day Dinner for Residents and Loved OnesWoodlands View Care Home in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, was filled with love, laughter and romance as residents and their partners enjoyed a special Valentine’s Day dinner, celebrating meaningful connections and togetherness.

The home’s talented chefs and kitchen team created an incredible three-course, restaurant-style Valentine’s menu for the occasion. Residents and their loved ones were able to choose from Tomato & Basil Soup or Prawn Cocktail as starters. For the main course, couples enjoyed either traditional Fish & Chips with mushy peas or Braised Pork in a rich mushroom and pepper sauce. To finish, dessert options included Apple & Raspberry Crumble with cream or Strawberry Crumble with cream, the perfect sweet ending to a beautiful meal.

Residents Harry and Jenny Hindle shared how lovely the decorations and pop-up restaurant looked, and said the food was “absolutely fantastic.” They also mentioned they are already looking forward to celebrating Valentine’s Day at Woodlands View again next year.

The creative Wellbeing Team transformed the main reception area into an elegant restaurant setting. Red tablecloths, wine glasses, roses and scattered rose petals added a personal and romantic touch, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere. Every detail was thoughtfully planned to ensure the evening felt truly special.

Chefs personally served each couple’s meals, while the Wellbeing Team and care staff stepped into the role of waiters and waitresses, ensuring residents and their significant others enjoyed a full “wine and dine” experience. All the communities across the home were also decorated with a Valentine’s theme, allowing everyone to feel included in the celebrations.

It was truly heartwarming to see couples smiling, laughing and cherishing such a meaningful experience together, a day filled with love, happiness and togetherness that will be remembered fondly by all.
The event was organised by the Wellbeing Team: Tracy Neale, Joana Alexander, Jess Merson, Claire Nchaoui and Julie Simpkins.

Elena Chelea, Home Manager at Woodlands View Care Home said:
