Woodlands View support Foodshed AppealAfter hearing about so many people struggling in our local community and having to access food banks, Colleagues at Woodlands View residential, nursing and nursing dementia care home, in Stevenage, decided to help.

Katrina North, Senior Home Administrator, decided to look at ways that they could help as a home. After seeing a social media post, the Foodshed Appeal seemed the most perfect way to do this.

Katrina approached them and was advised they were holding a reverse advent calendar in the lead up to Christmas. This means instead of receiving a treat each day in the run up to Christmas you give something instead.

For this to work Katrina had to get all the staff onboard therefore she made a list of all the items they could accept and gave these out to all Colleagues.

As you can see from the photo they received a large donation, thanks to all the staff. On dropping the donation off they were so grateful that the home had all taken the time to help those most in need.

Katrina commented, “A big thank you to all staff at Woodlands for such a kind donation. It was so lovely to see everyone come together to support the local community at this time of year. I hope to make this a yearly event.”
