Millcroft Care Home in Redditch, Worcestershire, celebrated World Book Day in style, as staff, residents, and even little visitors brought their favourite literary characters to life. The home was filled with creativity, laughter, and the magic of storytelling.
From a chicken and Wally to a bear, a banana, 101 Dalmatians, and Cruella de Vil, the costumes reflected a wide range of beloved stories. The fun didn’t stop there – a special visitor from the home’s weekly Rhythm Time Baby Class joined the festivities dressed as the rabbit from Guess How Much I Love You.
The home was also decorated with favourite book choices from residents and staff, sparking conversations about different characters, genres, and memorable scenes.
Sophie Poulton, Lifestyle Manager, said:
"It’s lovely to hear about everyone’s favourite books and characters. Everyone really enjoyed getting dressed up, and it added a lot of smiles and laughter to the day."
Jasmine Kessey, Home Manager, added:
"It’s been a wonderful day having our home full of lots of different book characters. We love doing a dress-up day here at Millcroft."
The event showcased the joy of reading and the power of shared stories to bring generations together. Millcroft Care Home continues to celebrate creativity, imagination, and community spirit in all its activities.
