Residents, families, and colleagues at HC-One Wales’s Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn Care Home in Skewen, Neath, recently celebrated the season in style with a vibrant beach-themed fête. While the Welsh weather may have kept the event indoors, that didn’t stop the home from being filled with sunshine, smiles, and laughter.
The day featured a host of seaside-inspired activities designed to bring joy and togetherness. Residents tapped along to a lively sing-along performance, while a surprise visit from a miniature Shetland pony delighted everyone in attendance. The home was transformed with colourful decorations, and residents embraced the theme with Hawaiian garlands, sunglasses, and inflatable guitars. The fun continued as residents and their loved ones got creative building sandcastles, sparking nostalgic memories of trips to the seaside and family holidays.
The beach fête was just one of many summer activities at Cwrt-Clwydi-Gwyn. In recent months, residents have enjoyed outdoor tea parties, seasonal arts and crafts, and visits from local entertainers and community groups – all designed to support wellbeing, connection, and happiness.
Now, as summer draws to a close, the home is already preparing for the colder months ahead. Residents can look forward to celebrations such as the Harvest Festival, cosy autumn activities, and special events that bring warmth and joy into the home during the winter season.
