Festive celebrations in HC-One care homes this December

Care homes across HC-One have been sharing the festive spirit this December, welcoming residents, families and local communities to enjoy a range of Christmas fayres and seasonal events.

At St Margaret’s care home in Crossgate, residents, families and members of the local community came together for the home’s much-loved annual Christmas Fayre. The event featured resident-made crafts, festive stalls and seasonal treats, alongside a Santa’s grotto, hot chocolate and a raffle. The fayre created a warm, welcoming atmosphere and provided an opportunity for everyone to celebrate the season together.

Meanwhile, Launton Grange care home in Bicester opened its doors to local families for a special festive visit from Santa. Children were invited to share their Christmas wishes in a festive grotto, while residents enjoyed watching the excitement and festive cheer unfold around them.

Over at Coopers Croft care home in Stoke-on-Trent, residents took part in a Christmas wreath-making workshop, organised alongside families. With festive decorations, mince pies and sweet treats, the creative session offered a relaxed and enjoyable way for residents and loved ones to spend time together while getting into the Christmas spirit.

Festive celebrations were also in full swing at Sedgley Court care home in Dudley, where the home hosted its Christmas Candy Cavern event. During the celebrations, resident Alan - a former Santa at Telford Shopping Centre - put the red suit back on to spread joy once again. Seeing him greet children, visit fellow residents and bring smiles to those around him was a moving moment for families, colleagues and members of the local community.

These events are just a snapshot of the many festive activities taking place across HC-One care homes this December. Our homes will each be marking the festive season with a series of community events and celebrations for residents and their families to enjoy together.
