HC-One joined its suppliers
MT Print and Premier to support the
Woodland Trust in the creation of a new woodland on the edge of The Mersey Forest, as part of HC-One’s ambition to be a carbon net zero care provider.
The tree planting event was held at the former Frodsham golf course, located in North Cheshire, where 100 individuals from companies across the UK came together to plant around 3,000 native saplings which will one day grow into a forest. The native trees will help to address the urgent challenges of climate change and biodiversity loss.
The Frodsham site will eventually be transformed into a native broadleaf woodland, which will contribute to the growth of The Mersey Forest and the larger Northern Forest. The objectives at the site align with nature recovery, climate change mitigation, and community involvement. With tree cover in Merseyside and Cheshire below the national average, the initiative serves as a beacon for environmental conservation, climate change mitigation, contribute to long-term carbon storage, provide habitats for wildlife and offer public recreation spaces.
Sally O’Donnell, Head of Marketing at HC-One, commented:
“HC-One was excited to be part of this initiative in partnership with our suppliers Premier Paper and MT Print. The work the Woodland Trust does to support the expansion of native woodland and create tree-rich habitats is so important in mitigating the impact of climate change and creating environments that local communities can enjoy.
“At HC-One, we recognise the importance working with suppliers who share our carbon net zero ambitions and building relationships with organisations like The Woodland Trust who are doing so much great work to tackle the challenges that climate change present.”
