MPs join residents and colleagues for festive visits across HC-One care homes

During the festive season, HC-One care homes across the country were pleased to welcome local MPs who joined residents, colleagues and families to take part in Christmas celebrations and community events.

At Orchard Mews care home in Benwell, Newcastle upon Tyne, residents enjoyed sharing their Christmas Fair with Dame Chi Onwurah MP. During her visit, she spent time meeting residents and colleagues, learning more about life at the home and joining in the festive atmosphere created by craft stalls, a raffle and seasonal treats.

Meanwhile, Woodland View care home in Droitwich welcomed Nigel Huddleston MP, who joined residents for a festive wreath-making session. He toured the home, met residents and colleagues, and took part in activities that reflected the home’s focus on wellbeing, meaningful engagement and community connection.

At Thorn Springs care home in Dunstable, Alex Mayer MP visited residents and colleagues to learn more about the home’s role within the local community. The visit highlighted Thorn Springs’ involvement in festive giving, including its support for the Salvation Army Toy Appeal, with donations collected to help children in need across the local area.

Over in Chelmsford, Admirals Reach care home welcomed Marie Goldman MP, who joined residents and colleagues for Christmas Jumper Day and toured the home’s communities. During her visit, she spent time speaking with residents and team members, gaining insight into day-to-day life at the home and the strong relationships at the heart of its care.

These visits represent just a snapshot of the many MP visits and community engagements that have taken place across HC-One care homes this December. Each visit provided an opportunity to celebrate the festive season together, strengthen community links and showcase the warm, welcoming environments within our homes.
