Ten wonderful HC-One Colleagues and teams across Tameside and Glossop shortlisted for awards at theTen HC-One Colleagues and teams from care homes across the Tameside and Glossop have been shortlisted as finalists by the judging panel at the Celebrating Remarkable and Inspirational Stars, Teams And Leaders (CRISTAL) Care Awards 2022.

The awards celebrate and recognise the innovative, personal and dedicated work of individuals across Tameside and Glossop to help and benefit those receiving care from an independent provider. 

HC-One’s finalists for the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022 are:

•    Lisa Joy, Home Manager at Kings Park Care Home, finalist in the Celebrating Personalisation; Remarkable Quality; Inspirational and Innovative Practice, Achievement in the workplace and Leading the Way Award Categories 

Lisa is a finalist across five different award categories as she has demonstrated that she works creatively to develop best practice in her home by optimising the use of technology and partnerships through working with others to develop intergenerational links within the local community. Lisa is always striving to ensure a high quality of care is provided to Residents at Kings Park which has positively benefited Residents, the service provided at the home and the sector in general. Lisa has also shown that she empowers Residents to have more choice and control over the support they need and how their care is delivered, taking into consideration Residents personal preferences.

•    The team at Holme Lea Care Home, finalists in the Transformational Team, and Inspirational and Innovative Practice Award Categories at the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022

The team at Holme Lea Care Home are finalists in two award categories as the team share the same goals, collaborate and support each other to achieve the best outcomes for the Residents they care for. The team ensures Residents and their families stay well connected; that there is good communication with service users and families, and that they involve the local community in life at the home.

•    The team at Sandon House Care Home, finalists in the Inspirational and Innovative Practice Award Category at the CRISTAL Care Awards 2022

The team at Sandon House Care Home have been selected as finalists due to supporting Residents with different needs to do enjoyable and meaningful activities every day. The team have collaborated in new ways and integrated with other health and care services to ensure the best quality of care for Residents is achieved. The team strive to always improve Resident’s physical and emotional wellbeing by using different methods and techniques to accomplish this. 

•    The team at Kings Park Care Home, finalists in the Transformational Team Award Category 

The team at Kings Park Care Home have shown they are willing to embrace change and develop new ideas. They have a shared vision, set goals and encourage a positive culture and ethos within the care home.

•    Sue Jackson, Home Manager at Stamford Court Care Home, finalist in the Leading the Way Award Category 

Sue is a finalist in the ‘Leading the Way Award’ Category due to being a role model and inspiring her fellow Colleagues. Sue has shown vision, supported her Colleagues to reflect on what could be better within the care home and to bring about positive change, benefiting the Residents she cares for. Sue has shown in her role that she is committed and enables others to improve.

•    Alex Jones and Sue Mason Nursing Assistants at Stamford Court Care Home; Lindsey Chalmers, Wellbeing Coordinator at Daisy Nook House Care Home; Lindsey Bann, Nursing Assistant at Guide Lane Care Home; and Janice Hemmings, Home Administrator at Kings Park Care Home, finalists in the Shining Star Award Category 

These Colleagues have been shortlisted as finalists in the ‘Shining Star Award’ Category for striving to achieve something above and beyond the requirements of their normal job role. They have shown a willingness to learn and improve, are a role model and have a positive impact and influence on their Colleagues; go the extra mile and are innovative, dedicated passionate about their job role.

“I am extremely proud that ten HC-One Colleagues and teams across our care homes in Tameside and Glossop are being recognised as finalists at the well-esteemed CRISTAL Care Awards 2022. The pandemic has presented many challenges for our Colleagues and care homes but it has also highlighted the amazing work our Colleagues do in our homes, especially during the challenges of the pandemic.”

The CRISTAL Care Awards consist of seven awards, which cover a wide range of areas of the social care sector. An independent judging panel will decide the overall winner for each category and these will be announced at the awards celebration evening taking place on Friday 14th October 2022 at Dukinfield Town Hall.
