The Applewood care home celebrates opening of new dementia care community in Milton Keynes

HC-One’s The Applewood care home in Milton Keynes is delighted to open its newly designed dementia care community - a 28-bedded residential living environment created to provide a warm, safe and enriching home for people living with dementia.

The official opening was marked with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by a representative from Dementia UK, who joined colleagues, residents, families and local partners to celebrate this important milestone.

The new community reflects HC-One’s investment in creating modern, supportive environments designed to help residents feel at home from the moment they arrive. The space includes homely lounges, calm sensory areas and beautifully designed bedrooms, each helping to promote comfort, dignity and independence for people living with dementia.

Visitors on the day were welcomed to explore the new space, meet members of the care team and take part in sensory activities. Live entertainment and refreshments prepared by the home’s hospitality team added to the celebratory atmosphere.
