Meadowlands Care Home in Aberdare, Rhondda Cynon Taff, marked St. Patrick’s Day with a day full of fun, food, and festivities, ensuring residents enjoyed the spirit of Ireland right at home.
The celebrations kicked off with a special lunch featuring a traditional Irish twist: hearty Irish stew accompanied by a side of creamy colcannon. Residents were delighted by the themed meal and joined in the joyful atmosphere of the day.
Adding to the excitement, Meadowlands’ very own Sarah Clark, Care Assistant and Kayleigh Bunney, Nursing Assistant tried their hand at Irish dancing, entertaining residents with their enthusiastic performances. The fun continued with a sweet finale of chocolate muffins topped with Bailey’s buttercream, served alongside a choice of Baileys or Guinness for those who wished to raise a glass in true Irish style.
The team at Meadowlands were thrilled to see residents engaged, smiling, and enjoying the St. Patrick’s Day celebrations.
Zoe Morgans, Wellbeing Coordinator at Meadowlands, said:
“We love bringing a touch of celebration and tradition to our residents’ days. It was wonderful to see everyone joining in, enjoying the food, music, and laughter together. Moments like these truly make our care home feel like a vibrant community.”
