The Platinum Jubilee celebrations at Spennymoor care homeResidents and staff at Lothian House, residential and residential dementia care home, in Spennymoor have had lots of fun celebrating the Jubilee over the bank holiday weekend.

Over the weekend there was lots of things happening at Lothian House including the Residents watching the Platinum Jubilee celebrations on the television. They all sat together to watch the Platinum Party and Trooping the Colour.

On Monday 6th of June, to top of the end of the celebrations a garden party was held at the home. It was an extra special party as it was also Residents, Rays birthday. He was so excited to have a party on this day to celebrate his birthday.

Resident were joined by their friends and family to celebrate which was lovely to see. Singer, John Royce performed for all the Residents and guests, everyone loved it.

Shirley a staff member made lots of delicious, Jubilee themed cupcakes which were enjoyed by the Residents, guests, and staff members.

Jill Morton-Carr, Care Home Manager, remarked, “A huge thank you goes out to the wellbeing team and all the staff members for making this a very special celebration.”
